Bond Information

As a non-profit community organization, all Collingwood Skating Club members and their families must be involved in maintaining operations. This ensures all skaters receive the support they need, while keeping membership costs to a minimum. Get all the bond information you need here.

Bond Shift Opportunities

Each family is required to complete a certain number of volunteer shifts to cover their bond cheque. Bond cheques will only be cashed in the event that the required shifts are incomplete at the end of the season.

Bond shifts will be available for parents to complete while their skaters are on-ice (details listed below). Sign-up sheets will be available at Registration. Families may choose to fulfill all of their bond commitments during these shifts.

Additional bond shift opportunities will be available during Carnival and other major Club events. Full details for these opportunities will be released closer to the event dates.

*Note: During your shift, you may be required to assist coaches or executive members as needed.

Beginner Parents (required to complete 3 shifts per session)

Shift: Tuesday, 5:15-5:45 p.m.
- Ice Assistant (3 parents needed per shift): assist skaters on and off the ice and communicate with parents as needed (ie. retrieving a parent for a child who is injured, needs to use the restroom, etc.)
- Greeters (2 parents needed per shift): man the Welcome Table in the lobby, greet new arrivals and direct them to Club information and/or executive members as needed, distribute and collect skater name tags

CanSkate/Can-StarSkate Parents (required to complete 3 shifts per season)

Shift: Wednesday, 5:00-6:00 p.m.
- Greeters (2 parents needed per shift): man the Welcome Table in the lobby, greet new arrivals and direct them to Club information and/or executive members as needed

Intermediate Parents (required to complete 3 shifts per season)

Shift: Tuesday 4:00-5:15 p.m. x 3 consecutive weeks (equal to 1 shift)
(choice of: October 12 - 26, November 2 - 16, November 23 - December 7, December 14 - January 11, January 18 - February 1, February 8 - 22, March 1 - 22)
- Welcome Table and VIP Viewing Set-Up (1 parent needed per shift): set-up the VIP Viewing Section and Welcome Table in the lobby

Shift: Wednesday 4:00-5:00 p.m. x 3 consecutive weeks (equal to 1 shift)
(choice of: October 13 - 27, November 3 - 17, November 24 - December 8, December 15 – January 12, January 19 - February 2, February 9 - 23, March 2 - 23)
- Welcome Table and VIP Viewing Set-Up (1 parent needed per shift): set-up the VIP Viewing Section and Welcome Table in the lobby

Shift: Friday 5:55-7:25 p.m. x 3 consecutive weeks (equal to 1 shift)
(choice of: October 15 - 29, November 5 - 19, November 26 – December 10, January 7 – 21, January 28 – February 11, February 18 – March 4)
- Welcome Table and VIP Viewing Take-Down (1 parent needed per shift): take-down and put away the VIP Viewing Section and Welcome Table in the lobby

Senior Parents (required to complete 3 shifts per season)

Shift: Friday 3:55-4:10 p.m. x 3 consecutive weeks (equal to 1 shift)
(choice of: October 15 - 29, November 5 - 19, November 26 – December 10, January 7 – 21, January 28 – February 11, February 18 – March 4)
- Welcome Table and VIP Viewing Set-Up (1 parent needed per shift): set-up the VIP Viewing Section and Welcome Table in the lobby
