In addition to group lessons, skaters may arrange private coaching with a club coach for 1:1 or semi private lessons with another skater of the same caliber. All Collingwood Skating Club coaches are NCCP Skate Canada certified. Each have their own coaching fee schedule, averaging $11 - $12 per 15 minutes, and are paid directly.


Janet Collins

Janet has over 35 years of coaching experience. She is Level 2 Certified in Figure Skating (Singles, Dance and Pairs) and Level 2 in Special Olympics. She has been a coaching member for both Team Canada at the Special Olympics World Winter Games and Team Ontario at the Special Olympic National Games.  She is a three time recipient of the Petro Can Coaching Excellence Award. Diane Hall-Colley

Diane has been coaching at the C.S.C. since October 1981. She is a Skate Canada NCCP Level 2 certified coach with Level 3 in the Technical component and a certified Power Skating coach. Diane represented Canada at the last ever North American Championships in Peterborough in 1971 and in the same year at the World Championships in Lyon, France.  Diane also works full time as the Inventory Specialist at the Collingwood Home Hardware Building Centre. Christine Howell

Christine has over 25 years of coaching experience and has been with the C.S.C since 1996.  She is currently a Provincial Coach Certified (Level 2), Nationally Trained Coach (Level 3 Technical & Theory) and Technical Certified Power Skating Coach.  Christine has an Honours Diploma in Sport Sciences and Coaching Techniques.  Christine was trained under National, World and Olympic coaches Josee Picard and Eric Gilles. Michael Koshilka

Michael has been involved in figure skating in this area since he was 10 years old and was a Collingwood Skating Club member himself, representing the CSC twice at the Canadian Nationals with partners Carol Wheeler and Andrea Derby.  He has been coaching all disciplines, skills, free skate and dance, in the area for more than 28 years. Erika Engel

Erika Engel started skating at age three, and has been coaching for seven years as a Primary STARSkate Certified coach in Thornbury. Erika finished her gold tests as a member of Collingwood Skating Club in the early 2000s. She lives and works in Collingwood, and is excited to be part of the CSC coaching team. Erika coaches all disciplines including skills, freeskate, and dance, and she also enjoys working with new skaters in learn-to-skate programs.
